Musikken på denne CD representerer noe av programmet duoen Røyseng/Aase har brukt de 10 årene den har eksistert. Åpningssporet ”Svenneprøva”/” The Journeyman's Test” ble arrangert for duoen av komponisten Jo Asgeir Lie. Belgrist på trekkspill tilsvarer ristetak på hardingfele, en svenneprøve for alle spelemenn.
Videre består den av mye originalmusikk for trekkspillduo - fra virtuose russiske arrangement og fyrrig argentinsk tango til finsk jenka, foruten transkribert musikk av Vivaldi/Bach og Edvard Grieg. Griegs ”Fra Holbergs tid”/”From Holberg’s Time” er arrangert for duoen av Lars Røyseng.
About the music:
The music on this CD represents a part of the program that Røyseng/Aase has been using for the last 10 years. The opening track “The Journeyman’s Test”, was specially arranged for the duo by the composer Jo Asgeir Lie. It is the technical difficulty of the bellowshake that represents the real “journeyman’s test”
This CD is filled with a large variety of original songs composed for the accordion duo - from virtuoso Russian arrangements and flaming Argentinean tango to Finnish jenka. It also has transcribed music by Vivaldi/Bach and Edvard Grieg. Grieg's “From Holberg’s Time” is arranged for the duo by Lars Røyseng.
